Barbara E. Sanborn

Barbara E. (Bridges) Sanborn, age 81, longtime resident of Merrimac, passed peacefully on December 9, 2025 at Port Healthcare and Rehab Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of Albert D. “Al” Sanborn, who passed on July 16, 2025., and they were each others best friends throughout their lives.

Born in Everett, MA on September 18, 1944, she was one of three children of the late Charles E. Bridges, Jr. and Barbara R. (Walsh) Bridges and Barbara was a graduate of Pentucket Regional High School in West Newbury.

Barbara had worked as a Retail Manager at a local department store for many years.

Her greatest joy came from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved so dearly and was always ready for adventures.

The family will continue to cherish the wonderful memories that Barbara shared with her entire family as well as her many dear friends. She leaves behind her two sons, Mark Sanborn and Scott Sanborn; her two daughters, Pamela Sanborn and Theresa Hingst and her husband Al; her grandchildren, Brian, Michael, Hayden, Camryn and Christopher; her four great-grandchildren, Logan, Brandon, Mason and newest addition, Hadley; her brother, Bruce Bridges, along with extended family and many friends from near and far. She was predeceased by her parents , Charles and Barbara,; her grandson, Cody, and her brother, Wayne A. Bridges.

It was Barbara’s decision that she will be laid to eternal rest beside her loving husband Al, at Locust Grove Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 36 West Main Street, Merrimac, MA.
