Carmen Y. Perlera

Carmen Yaritza (Aponte Mate) Perlera, age 52, of Amesbury, MA, passed peacefully at her home on Friday, September 18, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was survived by her devoted husband, Jose A. Perlera, who she loved from the first day she met him, and they were inseparable.

Born in Coamo, Peurto Rico, on November 17, 1973, she was the daughter of he late Jose Aponte and the late Onelia Mateo.

Carmen had worked at Johnson and Johnson, a medical device company.

Carmen loved to exercise, dance, enjoyed music and karaoke, and was impeccably dressed and always looked very elegant. Her family was her whole life and she felt blessed and thankful for the years she had with her family.

She leaves behind treasured memories that will continue to warm the hearts of those she loved so dearly, her husband Jose; her wonderful sons, Chris, Brian and Brandon; her six sisters and three brothers, along with numerous nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly, and her many friends from near and far.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026 from 3 to 6 P.M. at Paul c. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, MA 01913 followed by a Funeral Service at 6 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Donations in memory of Carmen Y. Perlera can be made to the American Cancer Society, and Carmen fought a valiant battle.
