Born in Stoneham, Massachusetts, on July 22, 1937, David was the son of the late William Aubrey Pride and Martha (Strom) Pride. He was a graduate of Medford High School, Class of 1955.
Following high school, David enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving from January 1955 to January 1958.
A skilled machinist and CNC programmer, David worked for many years at Arwood Machine, and was previously employed at Lawsen Tool and at MIT in Cambridge.
David enjoyed an active life. He was an avid golfer and managed a golf league for Arwood. He also enjoyed bowling, snowmobiling, and watching football and baseball. In later years, he treasured time, traveling with his longtime companion, Helen Thornton.
At age 80, David turned his CNC skills toward a passion for wood carving, a hobby he delighted in during his later years. He created many cherished keepsakes for family and friends.
David is survived by his three children: Darrall Pride and his wife, Maria, of Kingston, New Hampshire; Duane Pride and his wife, Nancy, of Springfield, Massachusetts; and Kristin Pride of Milford, New Hampshire. He is also survived by two sisters, Audrey Darrigo and her husband, Joe, of Dracut, Massachusetts, and Debi Yunes of Alton, New Hampshire.
In addition to his wife and parents, David was predeceased by two brothers, Chuck Pride and Don Pride, and four sisters, Marilyn Dray, Joan Heaton, Lois Saucier, and Beverly Troisi.
He was also blessed with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, all of whom will miss him dearly.
