Gwenaveve Ray (Willard) Bamford, 81, of Salisbury, died Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at High Pointe House in Haverhill surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of James J. Bamford, having been married for 65 years.

Born in Framingham, MA on September 7, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Joyce Willard and was an avid reader and loving homemaker raising five children and doting over her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought so much joy to her life. Gwen baby sat over hundreds of children during her lifetime and was a mother to all.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, James J. Bamford; her children, Wanda Eaton and husband Thomas of Amesbury,William Bamford and wife Kimberly of South Hampton, NH, Anne Goddard and husband James of Michigan, Wendy Cheney and husband Melvin of Seabrook, NH, Cheryl Bamford and boyfriend Jamie Ferris of Salisbury; her grandchildren, Joseph Eaton of Hamilton, Ryan Eaton of Amesbury, Kylie Grelle of Salisbury, Shawn Eaton of Newburyport, Cody Bamford of MI, and Travis Cheney of Candia, NH; her great-grandchildren, Thomas Eaton of Haverhill, Theodore Eaton of Amesbury, Oliver Eaton of Amesbury, Elliana Carrier of Salisbury and Elijah Carrier of Salisbury. She also leaves her brothers, Donald Willard of Salisbury, Raymond Willard and wife Cheryl of Merrimac, and Russell Willard and wife Susan of Salisbury; her sisters, Patricia Hopper of FL, Linda Soupnet of WA and Kathy Greenawalt of OH; her sister-in-law, Ann Willard of NH, along with several generations of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Gwen was also predeceased by her brother, James Willard and two sisters, Charlotte Noyes and Barbara Wiles, as well as a sister-in-law, Donna Willard and brother-in-law, Richard Hopper.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 17th from 4-7 p.m. at Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Family Funeral Home, 35 Green Street, Newburyport. Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations in memory of Gwen to the American Cancer Society.
