James E. Rolfe

SALISBURY – James “Jim” Edward Rolfe, 64, resident of Salisbury, MA passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday evening, September 23, 2026 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

Jim was married to his wife Ann-Marie St. Cyr-Rolfe for 31 years.

Born in Newburyport, MA, on May 3, 1962, he was the son of Joseph and Maura (Tognazzi) Rolfe. Jim was a graduate of Triton Regional High School, class of 1980 and studied at Sylvania Technical School and Northern Essex Community College.

Jim was an accomplished irrigation and landscaping professional, working as an irrigation manager and independent consultant and continuing his education through the Irrigation Association. He was nationally recognized as one of the leading irrigation specialists in the country. Jim was an entrepreneur and through his company AquaSave, he was one of the first to introduce evapotranspiration-based irrigation control to the New England area and later helped bring this technology to communities across the country. He took great pride in his work and in the knowledge and expertise he shared throughout the irrigation industry.

Jim loved watching his children grow up playing soccer. His love for the sport led him to coach his son’s youth team and eventually serve as president of the ECYSA. In his later years, Jim also developed a passion for skydiving, embracing the excitement and adventure it brought him.

Jim’s happiest place was the family camp in Vanceboro, ME, where he and his family vacationed every summer. He spent the rest of his summers enjoying his pool, surrounded by family and friends.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Jim is survived by his three children, Erika Boyd and fiancé David, Kiana Rolfe, and son Joshua Rolfe, all of Salisbury; and his grandson, Kayden; a brother, Joseph Rolfe Jr. and his wife Pam of Florida; many nieces, nephews and countless extended family and friends. He will also be deeply missed by his grand-dogs, Jutti and Kiki, whom he loved very much.

Visiting hours will be from 3-7 P.M. on Thursday, October 1st, at Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, MA 01913 immediately followed by a Memorial Service at the funeral home for family and friends.
