Jeanne M. (Guilmette) Poulin, wife of the late Raymond J. Poulin and life long Amesbury resident, passed away peacefully on March 31st, at Avita in Newburyport.

Born in Amesbury on October 2, 1933, Jeanne was the youngest and last surviving child of the late Alexis Guilmette and Lea (Mercier) Guilmette Doherty. She attended Sacred Heart Grammar School and Amesbury High School

.Before marrying her husband Raymond on June 18, 1955, Jeanne worked at the former Hytron in Newburyport. Later on she worked at Don’s Donuts in Amesbury with her sister Madeline who would deliver hot coffee and donuts by canteen truck to local construction workers on site. Years later she would drive for Cherbinas Bus Company transporting children with special needs to and from school.

But first and foremost, Jeanne was a stay at home mom to her six children, however come Saturday nights whenever possible, she and her husband were off to the nearest ballroom for dancing usually at the Rockingham Ballroom. Jeanne also enjoyed her time at the Province Lake camp and later years at their time share at the Cove at Yarmouth and summers at the rented beach cottage in Salisbury.

Jeanne leaves her children, Denise Dow, Dianne Jean and husband Michael, Ronald Poulin and wife Teresa and sons Joshua and Jordan, Richard Poulin and wife Jennifer, Raymond Poulin and wife Sarah and Russell Poulin. Her grandchildren are Dennis Dow Jr. and wife Alanna, Michaella Jean, Caitlin (Jean) Kennedy and husband Ryan, Sean and Lee Poulin and Victoria Poulin; and her great-grandchildren, Alivia, Lilyana, Connor and Savannah, her sister-in-law, Noella (Poulin) Boudreau and many nieces and nephews.

Aside from her parents and husband, Jeanne was predeceased by her step-father, Joseph Doherty, son-in-law, Dennis Dow, Sr., infant grandson Shawn Michael Jean and her siblings and spouses, Helen and Emile Gaudette, Roland and Mary Guilmette, Joseph Guilmette, Arlene and Paul Dandurant, Madeline and Benjamin Bunnell and her brother-in-law, Leo Boudreau.

The Poulin family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the nursing staff at Avita for taking wonderful care of their mother during her stay.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN, 38105-9959.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, April 6, 2026 from 4 to 7 P.M. at Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, MA. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Joseph Church at St. Andre Bessette Parish, 2 School Street, Amesbury, MA immediately followed by a Graveside Service at St. Joseph Cemetery, where Jeanne will be laid to eternal rest beside her beloved husband Raymond.
