John F. E. O'Neill

John Francis Edward O’Neill, age 91, of Amesbury, died Saturday, May 22, 2021, at the Hannah Duston Nursing Home in Haverhill with his family by his side. He was the devoted husband of 70 years to June D. (Baker) O’Neill.

Born in Andover, on January 16, 1930, he was the son of the late John and Mary J. (Keith) O’Neill and was a graduate of Andover High School, Class of 1948.

A proud veteran of the Korean War, John served with the United States Army from September 3, 1952 until his honorable discharge on June 2, 1954 with the rank of Corporal.

After his military service, John went to work for the J. P. Stevens Textile Company where he retired as a supervisor.

He leaves behind his three daughters, Sharon L. Letizia and husband Michael of Merrimac, Bonnie J. Peavey and husband Michael of Kershaw, SC and Christine Lynn Hollingsworth and her husband, Mitchell Hollingsworth of Rock Hill, SC; nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, along with extended family and dear friends, all of whom held a very special place in his heart.

Private services were held for the family. Arrangements were by Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, MA.
