Joseph "Fred" F. Beaulieu

Joseph “Fred” Frederick Beaulieu, age 77, longtime resident of Newburyport, MA, passed on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Lahey Medical Center in Burlington.

Born in Newburyport, on June 30, 1949, he was the son of the late Joseph N. Beaulieu and the late Catherine O. (Baur) Beaulieu and was a graduate of Newburyport High School, Class of 1967 and went on to college for a year or so.

Joseph enlisted in the United States Navy stationed in South Carolina and was proud to serve his country for 20 plus years, retiring as Petty Officer First Class in 1988. During his service, he had 4 years and eight months of foreign service, and also had 8 years and 8 month of Sea Service.

After his military service, Joe returned to Newburyport and became a Lieutenant in the Newburyport Call Fire Department and later on became a dispatcher. Additionally, Joe also had been Paramedic with the local Ambulance Services for almost 50 years.

He had been a longtime follower of the Cape Ann Amateur Radio Association.

Special memories will always be treasured by his sister, Peggy Poore and husband Paul Harnois of West Newbury, MA; two nieces, Emily Poore of Derry, NH, and Joan Vogtman and husband Thomas of Frostburg, MD; a nephew-in-law, Bryan Woodbury of Byfield, MA, who is the husband of Theresa Woodbury who had passed away; five great nephews; his dear friend, Cathy Natale and lifelong friend, Billy Poulin, along with his beloved cat, Jessica, who was so very dear to him. in addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his brother-in-law, David Poore.

Funeral service will be held Monday, September 28, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Family Funeral Home, 35 Green Street, Newburyport. Donations in memory of Joseph F.
