June D. O'Neill

June D. (Baker) O’Neill, age 93, longtime resident of Amesbury, passed peacefully on Friday morning, February 13, 2026 at the Andover Forest Post Acute Care Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was the dedicated wife of 70 years to the late John Francis Edward O’Neill, who passed on May 22, 2021.

Born in Lawrence, MA, February 15, 1932, June was the daughter of the late Robert Baker and Beatrice (Dollar) Baker Gougeon and was a graduate of Lawrence High School .

June and John were each others best friends and soul mates, and their life together with their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many dear friends, they enjoyed life to the fullest, including all the ups and downs, but happiness surrounded them throughout their life.

John had worked for J. P. Stevens Textile Company where he retired as a supervisor and June had worked as a cashier in various stores throughout the area.

June had been a longtime member of the Market Street Baptist Church in Amesbury and had made many friends.

Wonderful memories will continue to warm the hearts of those she loved so dearly, her daughters and their spouses, Sharon L. Letizia and husband Michael of Merrimac and Bonnie J. Peavey and husband Michael of Kershaw, SC; her son-in-law, Mitchell Hollingsworth of Rock Hill, SC; her 9 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, who held a very special place in her heart for them, along with extended family and dearest friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also predeceased by her daughter, Christine Lynn Hollingsworth.

Funeral services will be held for June and John on Friday, May 8, 2026 at 11 A.M. at Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, MA 01913, followed by a Graveside Service at Union Cemetery, Amesbury, where June and John will be together forever
