Katherine (Gurczak) Stanwood

Newburyport - Katherine Cecelia (Gurczak) Stanwood, age 78, lifelong resident of Newburyport, passed peacefully in the loving surroundings of her daughter's home in Seabrook, NH, after a period of declining health. She was the devoted wife of Ronald D. Stanwood, who passed on March 3, 2020.  

Born in Newburyport, January 6, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Madeline (Wile) Gurczak and was a graduate of Newburyport High School. Katherine was a Clerk of Courts for the Newburyport District Court, a position she embraced wholeheartedly.  

She leaves behind her two daughters, Robin Wile of Newburyport and Holly Reardon and her husband Joseph, Sr. of Seabrook, NH; her grandchildren, whom she loved with all her heart, Neah, Michael and wife Micaela, Elizabeth, Joseph and Megan; her great-grandchildren, who held a special place in her heart, Niveah, Joseph, Tanner, Ava, and Ryker, along with extended family, and many dear friends throughout her life. 

A Funeral Mass will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church, Green Street, Newburyport on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at 11 A.M. followed by burial at St. Mary's Cemetery, Newburyport, where she will be laid to eternal rest next to her beloved husband, Ronald.
