Linda Lee Marshall

d. November 17, 2024

Linda Lee Marshall, 72, of Merrimac, passed away peacefully on November 17th, surrounded by her loving family at High Pointe House in Haverhill. Born on February 28th, 1952 to parents Earle and Lorraine Marshall, Linda lived a life full of creativity, love, and devotion to her family and passions.

She was the cherished wife of Jon Behrens and a proud and devoted mother to Zach Field and Amanda Field. One of Linda’s greatest joys came from being “Grammy” to her adoring granddaughter, Marlie Field and frequenting all the local ice cream establishments together.

Linda spent 17 years as the Clerk of Courts in the New Hampshire court system, a job of which she was very proud. She later worked as a validation specialist at Pfizer. After retiring, she spent time volunteering at Port Healthcare in Newburyport, often bringing in her beloved dog, Daisy, to visit with residents.

Linda was a talented artist and seamstress whose hands were always busy creating beauty. She found joy in knitting, sewing, quilting, painting (especially Southwestern scenes), gardening, and feeding her favorite backyard birds. A gifted singer, she was an active member of the Newburyport Choral Society and a spirited musician in an adult steel drum ensemble.

Linda loved to travel. Some of her favorite trips include Arizona, Switzerland, Ireland and most recently, the vacation of a lifetime, traveling by train across the Canadian Rockies.

But above all else, Linda’s greatest delight came from Zach’s musical endeavors. You’d be hard-pressed to find a performance, show or recital of his that she didn’t attend over the years. She beamed with pride whenever she spoke of his talent and success.

Linda leaves behind her beloved husband Jon, her son Zach and his wife Sacha, and their daughter Marlie of Amesbury, as well as her daughter Amanda of Augusta, Maine. She is also survived by her sister Sandy Smith and her husband Leon of Merrimac, along with extended family and a community of friends who shared in her varied and vibrant hobbies.

Linda’s life was a testament to creativity, love, and the power of connection. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Arrangements to honor Linda’s life will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024, with visiting hours at the Highland Chapel of Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, MA from 5 to 8 P.M. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 1:30 P.M. at Main Street Congregational Church, 145 Main Street, Amesbury, MA 01913. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to High Pointe House (360 North Ave, Haverhill, MA 01830) where Linda received the most loving and compassionate care in her final days.
