Marjorie D. Waterhouse

M. Diane (Roberts) Waterhouse, age 85, long-time resident of Merrimac, passed peacefully on Tuesday evening, July 14, 2026 at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill, surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of the late George A. Waterhouse, who passed on March 9, 2019.

Born in Haverhill on October 13, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Gordon J. and Barbara L. (Fecteau) Ash and was a graduate of the former Merrimac High School, Class of 1958.

She was dedicated to her four children and was enthralled by her grandchildren and her great- grandchildren, who filled her life with overwhelming love and joy.

Diane and her husband George were the owners of the New Old Oak Restaurant and Bar for many years and now is owned and managed by daughter Beth. She and George spent many winters at their home in Boynton Beach, FL. Diane loved spending time in Aruba every year with friends and family.

Treasured wonderful memories will continue to warm the hearts of those who loved her so deeply, her children, David Waterhouse and wife Joanne, Barbara Sielicki and husband Charles, Robert Waterhouse and wife Kris and Beth Jewett, along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; her brother and sister, Michael J. Roberts and Katherine A. Brindle, along with nieces, nephews, and many dear friends from near and far.

Visiting hours will be held at Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, MA on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. followed by Funeral Services at the funeral home with a graveside service at Locust Grove Cemetery, Merrimac, where Diane will be laid to eternal rest beside her husband.
