Born in Boston and raised in Roxbury, Massachusetts, Patricia was the daughter of the late Stephen and Catherine Bogue, and wife of the late Stanley Baikewicz of Newburyport. Growing up she attended Saint Patrick’s School and Church in Roxbury. Patricia was the seventh of eleven children.
Patricia was a proud and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She leaves six children, Richard (Ginny), Debra Steeves (Jonathan), Kathryn Doan (Kenneth), Patricia Gray, Susan and John; six grandchildren, Melissa, Stephanie, Samantha, Justin, Kristen, and Jessica and three great grandchildren who she adored, Ellie, Dreya and Grayson. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Patricia was predeceased by her husband Stanley, a Newburyport native, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage, along with her unborn son, Joseph and infant granddaughter, Allison; her seven brothers, John, Frank, Ralph, Stephen, Bob, Paul and George; and her three sisters, Catherine, Dorothy and Helen.
Family was very important to Pat, she loved her “family dinners”, spending holidays with family and the times spent with her many close friends she made throughout her life. Always keeping in touch with everyone by her long phone calls and the many cards she sent for every holiday, birthday or just a note to keep in touch. Pat had an amazing memory never forgetting anyone’s birthday or anniversary. She enjoyed going out to dinner, playing bingo, doing her scratch tickets and her favorite shows Wheel and Jeopardy. She loved talking to people and kids everywhere she would go. She also enjoyed traveling throughout her life and later in life just taking rides with her children seeing all the places she enjoyed. She met her husband Stanley on the 4th of July in 1950 and they married in October, 1951. They lived the remainder of their lives in Newburyport. They were lifelong members of the Immaculate Conception Church in Newburyport where she volunteered for PTO and other school and church related activities.
Pat was a homemaker until her kids were almost grown then went to work at Port Rehab and Nursing Home in Newburyport for 20 years before she retired at age 80 to care for her husband Stanley. She will be deeply missed by family and those who knew her.
A mass will be held on Thursday, April 23rd, at 10:30 A.M. at the Immaculate Conception Church, 42 Green Street, Newburyport, followed by a burial at Old Hill Cemetery Veterans Section in Newburyport and celebration of life for family and close friends. Funeral arrangements were made by Elliott, Woodworth & Roger’s Family Funeral Home, 35 Green Street, Newburyport. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Children’s Hospitals.
