Paula Ellen Iannuccillo (O’Neil) sadly passed away on November 27, 2023. She was the daughter of the late James and Helen O’Neil. Paula was born in Cambridge, MA and grew up in Wellesley, MA. She was educated in Wellesley before attending the College of White Plains where she earned her bachelor of science degree in early childhood education.
Paula is survived by her husband of 41 years, Mark Iannuccillo; sons Mark Iannuccillo, wife Alysa and grandsons Jaxon, Cash and Wyatt; Robert Iannuccillo, wife Kelsey and grandson Josiah; David Iannuccillo and grandsons Gavin and Caleb; daughter Elizabeth Benitez, husband Julian and grandsons Connor and Luca; her brother James O’Neil and wife Andrea MacAulay; nephew Patrick O’Neil, wife Chrissy and son Finn; and niece Jennifer O’Neil and husband Andrew Couillard. Paula also had many additional “sons, daughters and grandkids†by way of friends who she considered family.
Paula lived a full life, marrying her husband in 1983 and moving to Amesbury. She lovingly raised her four children in true superwoman fashion. She will always be remembered as a selfless wife and mother, who never complained or had a bad word to say about anybody. It was not uncommon to find a yard full of kids on a Friday night and Paula making pizza after pizza in the kitchen to make sure that everyone was fed!
Paula returned to her passion of teaching once her children were in school full-time, working at Amesbury Elementary School for decades.
Paula had a love for the beach and Cape Cod, spending time every summer soaking up the sun with a good book. She was an avid sports fan, especially hockey, attending many Bruins games or yelling at the TV from her living room. In her retirement Paula enjoyed getting away with the girls for their many adventures. Paula also loved horses and volunteered her time with different organizations that offered therapeutic programs.
Best known as Nana, she operated the “Nana Bus†picking up and dropping off various grandkids from school or sports or loading them up for adventures with the back of her car stocked with snacks. She loved the holidays and having everyone together in one place. Her favorite was viewing Christmas lights, whether it was with her daughter Liz and daughter in law Alysa down in Chatham for the weekend or the lights at Sandy Hill Farm with all of her grandkids in tow. Her family was her life, she never turned down an opportunity to spend time with her family. She made sure to attend every game or event the grandkids were in.
She will be forever missed and loved by all.
In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations be made in memory of Mrs. I to Amesbury Educational Foundation.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday, December 2, 2023, from 4 to 8 P.M. at the Highland Chapel of Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, MA 01913.
