Robert Bruce Hamilton

Robert Bruce Hamilton age 78, resident of West Newbury for many years, passed peacefully at Avita of Newburyport, on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, after a period of declining health. He was the devoted husband of Renee (Bittar) Hamilton, who passed on November 1, 2021.

Born in Kearny, New Jersey, December 31, 1946, he was one of two sons of the late Robert R. and Elizabeth (Nichols) Hamilton and was a graduate of Winchester High School then furthered his education at Wagner College in New York City, earning a Bachelor's Degree.

Known by most as "Bruce", he was an exceptional woodworker and loved restoring antique homes. Bruce's wife, Renee, was always by his side, engaging, encouraging and praising his accomplishments. 

Bruce and Renee were each others best friends and they enjoyed traveling as much as they enjoyed the comfort of their home, caring for their gardens and gathering with friends.

Bruce leaves behind his only brother, Paul R. Hamilton of Manahawkin, NJ; his nephew, Michael Hamilton; his niece, Kristen Jaworowsky; along with dear friends from near and far.

Visiting Hours will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M.,, at Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Family Funeral Home, 35 Green Street, NEWBURYPORT, followed by a Memorial Service at the funeral home at 1 P.M.
