Sheila G. (Rich) McCoy

Newburyport - Sheila Grace (Rich) McCoy, age 86 of Newburyport, MA, passed peacefully on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Cornerstone Assisted Living Center in Hampton, NH. She was the devoted wife of the of the late David W. McCoy, who passed on June 20, 2001.

Born in Newburyport, MA on July 29, 1938, she was one of two children of the late Gordon B. and Grace E. (Bowman) Rich and was a graduate of Newburyport High School.

Sheila had worked at the Newburyport City Clerk's Office over 20 years, and had been Treasurer of the Newburyport Charitable Society, and was an avid lover of antiquing, spending countless hours for the perfect item.

She will continue to be cherished by her son, David McCoy and significant other Deborah Matoian of Newburyport; her daughter, Jennifer Cristofori and husband Stephen of Holliston, MA; her two grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Anthony Cristofori of Bellingham, MA, and Anna Cristofori of Medfield, MA, along with extended family and dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her brother, Gordon B. Rich, Jr.

By the request of the family, services will be private. Sheila will be laid to eternal rest beside her loving husband, David, at Belleville Cemetery in Newburyport. Arrangements were made by Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Family Funeral Home, 35 Green Street, Newburyport, MA 01950.
