Stephen Douglas Fyfe, age 73, of Haverhill, passed at Lahey Hospital, Burlington on Wednesday evening, January 7, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of 40 years of Linda M. Fyfe, his soul mate and best friend over all these years.

Born in Amesbury, MA on March 1, 1952, he was the son of the late John J. Fyfe Jr. and Nancy (Clark) Fyfe and had attended Newburyport High School.

Steve was an accomplished mechanic and had worked many years in an Auto Body shop providing exceptional service above and beyond. Steve was very passionate about his motorcycles and his 1938 Ford Coupe and attended many car shows over the years. He had a love for seasonal camping and some of his favorite destinations were Old Orchard Beach and Freeport Maine. He also enjoyed weekly trips to Hampton Beach during the summer.

Steve would go above and beyond to help anyone in need including neighbors, close friends and strangers. He always made everyone laugh and was the life of the party and would often like to play jokes on people. He will be greatly missed by all.

His life was filled with countless memories that will continue to warm the hearts of those he loved so dearly, his wife, Linda; sons, Stephen D. Fyfe, Jr., and Michael Bailey and wife Keri; his brothers, Daniel Palen, Richard Palen and wife Cathy; his sister, Barbara Bailey, along with several nieces and nephews, extended family and many dear friends from near and far. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son Shawn Garwich; his brothers, Peter Fyfe, Leonard Palen, David Palen and his wife Pauly, and his sister-in-law, Ann Palen. His love for them will never die.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 1 P.M. to 5 P.M. at the Highland Chapel of Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, MA 01913, immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 5 P.M. A Graveside Service for Steve will be held sometime this Spring, where he will be laid to eternal rest at Locust Grove Cemetery in Merrimac.
