Timothy Bruce Fowler was born on August 28, 1953, in Newburyport, Massachusetts, and on December 25, 2025, Tim went to his heavenly home following a ten-year struggle with pancreatic cancer.
Tim was the son of Edith (Fowler) Brockelbank and Walter Fowler. He leaves behind his sisters, Karen Murphy, Gayle Iwanicki, and Deb Hay; his brother, Edward Brockelbank; his brother-in-law, Walter Iwanicki; his sister-in-law, Dawn Brockelbank; and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who became family to him. Tim was predeceased by his brothers Walter Fowler, David Fowler, Tracy Fowler, Donald Fowler, and Allen Fowler.
A graduate of Newburyport High School, Tim developed his love for music in the school band, where his talent and interest led him to the North Shore Regional Band and earned him the John Philip Sousa Award for Music. He later continued his education at Northern Essex Community College. And at Hope Community Church, Tim paired his faith with his role as the church organist and choir member.
Tim was a loyal fan of the New England Patriots. He was a season-ticket holder for 42 years, missing only four games. Tailgating before each home game was a ritual he enjoyed; even serving Thanksgiving feasts with friends off the back of his truck. And in 2023, Tim had the distinct honour of being named The New England Patriots Fan of the Year.
He spent his career at Dave Shepherd’s Auto Body, taking on a variety of roles throughout his tenure. His commitment to service extended to his lifelong membership in the Neptune Veteran Firemen’s Association, where he proudly served as both president and treasurer.
Living just moments from the Parker River, Tim enjoyed time on the water. Boating was one of his biggest hobbies, and many days were spent at “the Knobbs,” in the company of fellow boaters, sharing the salt air, easy conversation, and his rich humour.
Tim also had a thoughtful and expressive voice within the community. Through his many articles in the Newburyport Daily News, he shared his insights, opinions, and deep affection for his hometown.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Hope Community Church in Newburyport, Massachusetts.
